Vigilance Bureau sleuths nabs PSPCL Junior Engineer Red Handed

Ferozepur, October 3, 2016: Sleuths belonging to the Vigilance Bureau today nabbed a Junior Engineer (JE), PSPCL, Sub-urban Division red handed while he was allegedly accepting bribe of Rs.5000 from the complainant Baldev Singh son of Gurdip Singh, a resident of Village Machhiwara in Ferozepur District.
Giving details, Ranbir Singh Saini, SSP, Vigilance said that Baldev Singh had submitted his complaint to the VB that the Malkeet Singh who was posted as JE, in PSPCL, had demanded a bribe of Rs. 5000 from him for issuing the accessories for tubewell connection which were to be handed over today.
The SSP said that following the complaint, a case was registered against the erring JE at Vigilance Bureau Police Station under sections 7,13 (2) 88 PC Act (Case number 14 Dated 03.10.2016).
Later, the VB sleuths conducted a raid and arrested Malkeet Singh while he was receiving the money. The vigilance officials recovered Rs.5000 from the left pocket of his shirt.
The VB officials said that two government witness Arvinder Singh, Principal, Government Senior Secondary School, Machhibugra, Ferozepur and Charanjit Singh, District Agriculture Development Officer, Agriculture Department Ferozepur along with shadow witness Rana Singh son of Jaspal Singh, resident of Village Habib Wala, Ferozepur were also present when the VB officials nabbed the erring JE.
