Veterinary Poly Clinic to work in double shift

Nawanshahr, March 3, 2015: The state government has decided to enhance the working hours of veterinary poly clinics situated at the district headquarters in the state by converting them into double shifts for the convenience of the people. Henceforth, the Veterinary Poly Clinics would remain open from 9 a.m to 3 p.m.(morning shift) and from 3 p.m to 9 p.m (evening shift) to provide healthcare facility to the live stock. 

Giving this information, Dr. Amarjit Singh Multani, Deputy Director, Animal Husbandry, said that under the scheme, the Veterinary Poly Clinic, Nawanshahr, would function in double shift on working days and it would remain open during morning shift on Sundays and other government holidays. The services of a veterinary doctor, veterinary inspector and a class 4 employee would be available during the evening shift to make the facility of treatment of cattle convenient for the people.

Dr. Kuldip Singh Atwal, Incharge, Veterinary Poly Clinic, Nawanshahr, said that about 300 to 400 cattle per month were being provided with the healthcare facilities at the veterinary poly clinic. During the current financial year, as many as 3896 cattle had been provided treatment so far and likely to surpass the target of treatment of 4000 cattle. Besides, the clinical tests of as many as 5304 cattle, 40 major surgeries, 73 operations have been done and fertility treatment of 1100 milch cattle have successfully been done.
