Jalandhar, May 24, 2016: Five day Vedic Chetna Shivir concluded at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya. The chief guest of the occasion was Sh. Arvind Ghai, Secretary, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi and his wife Mrs. Rashmi Ghai. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen welcomed them with a bouquet of flowers. Principal Dr. Sareen introduced Chief Guest Mr. Ghai to the students and told them about his social work. She made the students to take oath to follow moral values always. The function was started with Havan Yajna by Mr. Arvind Ghai and Principal Mrs. Sareen with reciting of Vedic Mantra. Head of Sanskrit Deptt. Mrs. Sunita Dhawan concluded the Havan. Mrs. Rashmi Ghai recited a bhajan. Students shared their experiences of Chetna Shivir. Chief Guest Mr. Arvind Ghai addressed the students and said that as students, they have chosen the best women institution of North India. This Shivir will help them to become good citizens and live life in the best possible manner. He appreciated the efforts of the college. During the Shivir, the students took part in activities like Debate, Singing, Poem Recitation, Bhangra, Dance, Shabd, Vedic Question-Answer etc. and the best students were given certificates. In Debate, Divya and Supreet, in Folk Singing Disha, in good thoughts Jagriti, in Bhangra Inder & Arshdeep, in Poem recitation Jashandeep, in dance Navroj, in Yoga Amandeep and Harman, in Vedic question-answers Nisha and Sumedha were given prizes. The organizers of this Shivir were Mrs. Sunita Dhawan and Mrs. Navroop. Chief Warden Mrs. Anita Sharma, Veena, Seema, Rajinder and Suman also contributed in Shivir.
