VB nabs clerk of Punjab Roadways red handed for taking bribe

Chandigarh, August 19: State Vigilance Bureau nabbed clerk Preetjatinder Singh of Punjab Roadways Sri Mukatsar Sahib depot red handed for accepting bribe of Rs.3500/-.

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of Vigilance Bureau Punjab said Preetjatinder Singh, clerk was caught red handed on the complaint of Jatinderpal Singh driver of Punjab Roadways Sri Mukatsar Sahib depot. Giving details he said the complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above named clerk was demanding bribe of Rs. 3500/- to retain his duty on volvo bus route.

After verifying his complaint the VB team laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed with Rs.3500/- and tainted money was recovered from him in the presence of two official witnesses.

He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Ferozerpur and further investigation was under progress.
