UPGRADATION OF INSTITUTE FOR AUTO PARTS & HAND TOOLS TECHNOLOGY TO TRANSFORM PUNJAB INTO A GLOBAL MANUFACTURING & EXPORT HUB: PUNJAB MINISTER
CHANDIGARH, OCTOBER 23, 2018: “The Institute for Auto parts & Hand Tools Technology, Ludhiana owing to the persistent efforts of the Punjab Government has been upgraded under the ASIDE scheme with an investment in plant and machinery worth Rs.12 crores.” Disclosing this, the Industries & Commerce Minister, Punjab, Mr.Sunder Sham Arora informed that with the start of these Technologically Advanced facilities in the institute, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector especially hand tool and auto parts component manufacturers will benefit and become competitive for global markets and enhance exports from the state. Now, the MSMEs will have access to world class R&D, testing and manufacturing facilities within the state of Punjab. The minister further said that with the strengthening of this Institute, the hand tool and auto component manufacturing sector would get tremendous impetus in the productivity and quality of their products thereby boosting exports and their profitability from the State of Punjab. It is noteworthy that the Project Monitoring Committee (PMC) in its meeting held recently under the Chairpersonship of the Additional Chief Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Punjab, Mrs. Vini Mahajan had reviewed the progress of this institute. The Chairperson informed that the successful implementation and strengthening of the Institute has led to creation of advanced technical infrastructure at par with such facilities available at International level and these up-graded Plant, Machinery & Equipment of global level is now available locally to the manufacturers and exporters.
