Ludhiana, August 20, 2018: Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab organised “Enhancement of Skill Efficacy in Vocational Training" at Guru Teg Bahadur Hall Punjabi University, Patiala.
Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU), Ludhiana mentioned that 56.5 million skilled workers are required worldwide by 2022. He also said that the ITI collage should train manpower for modern needs such as CNC Operator, Robot Experts, Garment Designers and instrument expert.
He also mentioned that, CICU will help students to exhibit their projects at MACHMA Expo in Dec-2018 and shall give awards to them for good projects. He also advised the institutes to give special attention to attitude & discipline of students.
S.S. Bhogal, Past Chairman, CII Punjab emphasized on the skilling must be given on taking care of future need of industries and Value addition must be the criteria, which collages must take in consideration while giving training.
Charanjit Singh Channi, Minister of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab presided over the event as Chief Guest.
The other dignitaries on Dias were Parveen Kumar Thind, Director, Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab, D.K Tiwari, Secretary, Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab and Daljit Kaur Sidhu, Additional Director, Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab.
About 750 delegates comprising Principals and Instructors from all ITIs of Punjab participated.
