Unprecedented development taken place during last 3 years- Stokes

Shimla, November 16, 2015: A meeting of Cabinet Sub Committee to review the implementation of Election Manifesto of Congress Party which had been adopted as Policy Document of the State Government was held here today under the Chairmanship of Irrigation and Public Health Minister Smt.Vidya Stokes. Industries Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri who is also the Member of the Committee attended the meeting.
Smt. Stokes said that the State Government had not only fulfilled the promises made during the Vidhan Sabha elections but achieved many milestones of development. She said that unprecedented development had taken place in the State during last about three years.
During the meeting achievements of Urban Development, Industries, Information and Technology departments etc. were discussed. Smt. Stokes said that against the target of setting of 3366 Common Service Centres 2060 centres had been made functional which were catering the needs of various governmental and trade services to the consumers.
She said that State Government was implementing egovernance services more effectively in all the departments, government undertakings and organizations so that people could take benefits from these services. She said that Jail Varta Pariyojna, e-district mission mode project, Unique Identity Project, eoffice, erp in HPMC, eapplication in municipal corporation Shimla and TCP portal etc. were the projects being implemented under the supervision of Information and Technology Department.
Industries Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri said that State Government had been implementing ambitious Skill Development Project to benefit the youth of the State. He said that skill development courses have been stated in about 500 schools and so far 37000 youths were enrolled in these institutions. He said that State Government was concentrating towards upgradation of skill of the youth so that more youth from the State could get better job opportunities in various industries within the State.
Chief Secretary Shri P. Mitra, Additional Chief Secretaries Shri Tarun Shridhar, Shri Narinder Chauhan, Shri P.C. Dhiman, Dr. Shrikant Baldi, Shri Sanjeev Gupta, Smt. Manisha Nanda, Secretary, GAD Shri Mohan Chauhan and other senior officers of the State Government also attended the meeting.
