UNION MINISTER NITIN GADKARI TO VISIT LUDHIANA ON SEPTEMBER 14

Ludhiana, September 12, 2016:Union Cabinet Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Mr Nitin Gadkari would be visiting the city on September 14, 2016 (Wednesday). During his visit, Mr Gadkari would lay the foundation stone of three projects worth Rs 3212 crore, that would provide a new direction for the Ludhiana district’s development. These projects include a new Elevated Road for city, four-laned Ladhowal Byepass and four-laning of Ludhiana-Kharar road.
Deputy CM Punjab Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal along with other prominent people would also attend these functions.
While providing information, Deputy Commissioner Mr Ravi Bhagat informed that all three of these development projects would provide a new direction to the ongoing development of the district. He said that for the permanent solution of the increasing traffic congestion in the city, an elevated road is being constructed. This elevated road would be 13-kilometer in length and would be constructed from Samrala Chowk to MC Limits. An amount of Rs 852.67 crore would be spent for this project.
He informed that foundation stone of new four-laned Ladhowal Byepass, that would connect National Highway-95 with National Highway-1, would also be laid. This project would start from near Ladhowal Seed Farm, would be of 17 kilometers and would cost Rs 392 crore.
Mr Bhagat informed that besides these two projects, Mr Nitin Gadkari would also lay the foundation stone of four-laning of Chandigarh Road- starting from Ludhiana (Samrala Chowk) to Kharar. This project would not only be beneficial for Ludhiana, but it would benefit the entire state. He informed that this 76 kilometer long stretch of road would be four-laned with a cost of around Rs 1967.32 crore.
Deputy Commissioner Mr Ravi Bhagat informed that National Highways Authority of India would carry out the work on all these three projects. He said that it is expected that these projects would be ready in next two and half years time. He said that a Public Rally would also be organised at Dana Mandi on Hambran Road, here, that would be addressed by Mr Nitin Gadkari, Deputy CM Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal, Irrigation Minister Mr Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, PWD Minister Mr Janmeja Singh Sekhon, besides others.
