AAP organises Seminar on problem of Child Trafficking

Ludhiana, June 25, 2016: Aam Aadmi party organised an interactive session on the problem of Child Trafficking and Missing Children at Rotary club. Many NGOs from India and Punjab participated in the session. H.S.Phoolka, senior lawyer of Supreme Court and senior leader of Aam Aadmi party was the chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Phoolka said that statistics show that every 8th minute, a child goes missing in India and 72% of missing persons are minor girls. It is a grave issue and reflects the image of our society to the world. The problem needs to be studied and analyses in a broader prospective with comprehensive solution through joint involvement of police, judiciary and public. For it, sensitization of these three elements is of key importance and can help solve the problem. Such interactive sessions facilitate the sensitization move for the intended objective.
Bachpan Bachao Andola, an NGO which is being headed by Nobel Prize winner Kailash Satyarathi, was represented by Dhananjay Tingal, Dinesh and Piyali Chatterjee. He said that social and economic issues are the root causes of the problem and forcing many children to do child labour, sex slaves and organ donors.
Many NGOs like ‘Sankalp’ headed by Pankaj Dogra from Sunaam, Agwakaar Virodhi Action Committee headed by Gurdit Singh Sekho from Faridkot, Mindset NGO headed by Kuldip Dhillon and Ambedkar Nagar Welfare Society headed by Dr Surjeet Singh participated in this session.
The Programme was coordinated by Amrit Pal Singh, sector co-coordinator, Aam Aadmi Party, Ludhiana, Col. Darshan Dhillon, Brigadier T.S.Thind, Capt. Satbeer Singh, Col. C. M. Lakhanpal, Dr S. S. Sibia, Manjit Singh, Manisha Singh, Raj Buttar, Ashok Upadhya, Ramit Saxena, Surinder Singh Raj Fateh Singh, Lakhwinder Singh Virk and Gurpreet Singh Birdi.
