Under the patronage of ‘Pustak Prem Lehar,’ Guru Nanak Engineering College observed out a Book Discussion
• Books are sent to the readers at half of the price under this movement • The discussion made over Gurpreet Singh Tour’s book ‘Allarh Umraan Talakh Sunehe’ and book "Giani Ditt te Sikh Issues", edited by Inderjit Singh Ludhiana, January 6, 2019: A book discussion program was organized by the Mechanical Engineering Student Manch of Guru Nanak Engineering College, a leading educational institute in Punjab, under the movement ‘Pustak Prem Lehar’. During this, DIG Counter Intelligence Chandigarh Gurpreet Singh Toor IPSs book ‘Allarh Umraan Talakh Sunehe’ and the book "Giani Ditt te Sikh Masle", edited by Dr.Inderjit Singh, was reviewed. College Principal Dr.Sehajpal Singh welcomed the guests and applauded the work done under the Pustak Prem Lehar and he also presented a resolution to found a readers-club to promote good literature in the college. He also briefed the college’s inputs to promote harmony and for the welfare of society. After this, the director of the movement Prof.Sukhjeet Singh highlighted the social responsibility they had taken as the mission of the movement. During the first session of the session, researcher Mehtab Singh Sandhawala who came especially from Panjab University, read a paper on the overall aspects of the IPS Toor’s book "Allarh Umraan Talakh Sunehe, followed by IPS Toor himself, who read a keynote address over the book ‘Chewaan Dariya: Chunotia ate Hall’ which means "Sixth River: Challenges and Solutions". He also interacted with the audience and answered their questions. Meanwhile, in the second session of this book discussion program, a researcher from Panjab University Paramvir Singh read a paper on the topic: ‘Khalsa Akhbar Lahore De Sampadki Lekha da Mojuda Sarokar’ meaning ‘The current impact of the editorial articles of Lahore Khalsa Newspaper’. Though the Sikh thinker S. Parampal Singh shared his thoughts about Giani Ditt Singh's Dalit sentiments with the audience, afterward the readers shared their views on book 'Giani Ditt te Sikh Masle'. For breaking the customs of regular events, books were presented as honors to the guests. For information of the readers, we would like to share with you that, for the sake of providing good literature to the readers in this movement, books are sent periodically, only on half of the value and without any kinda postal charges, late on which were reviewed as well. Goes along with this, other literary activities are also done as book exhibitions to bring awareness towards literature in schools, colleges, and universities.
