Twelve-Nation Apex Body ‘QCFI’ held Convention on Quality Concepts at LPU
Jalandhar, August 4, 2018: Quality Circle Forum of India- Delhi Chapter’s (QCFI-DC’s) 6th Convention on Quality Concept (CCQC)-2018 for Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and J & K Region was held today at Lovely Professional University. Convention hosted second time at LPU, ignited minds for innovation through quality and industry awareness. In the event, 450+ delegates from 40+ organizations of northern region participated, where 40+ illustrious case-study were presented. During the event, participants shared their individual success stories and best practices in competition to others, whence appointed Jury from the industry decided the best of them. The convention proved useful for students who got clear concepts about quality control and best of working. In fact, the convention was aimed to teach about attaining the “growth through quality Concepts”. Quality Assurance teams from top companies including Hero Moto Corp, Maruti Suzuki, Godrej, Mahindra & Mahindra, Blue Star, Bharat Electronics, JCB India, Gabriel, Swaraj Engines, Sail and more shared best practices with students and other industries. Presently, QCFI represent India as a member of 12 Nation body consisting of Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, China, Hongkong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Bangladesh, Thailand and Sri Lanka. Inaugurating the convention, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal expressed happiness for organization of the quality promoting convention at LPU campus. Mr Mittal also shared that the motto of LPU, too, is to provide quality education to the students from across India and abroad. He shared: “We prepare 80-90 percent of our students as industry ready. No doubt, we have many pathways in preparing our students, including government sectors, NGOs and more, but the best pathway is the corporate sector. Important for us is always to guide them about the industry wants from them for which we have specially developed Industry Interface Division at the university. In fact, we want our students to continue growing along with industry aspirations.” Mr Mittal wanted LPU students and teachers to be more close to the industry as it is approaching with great involvement with the university. Prior to this, initiating the convention, COO K G Sharma of QCFIDC expressed gratitude for the phenomenal support of LPU in smooth organization of the event. Dr S B Purohit from Hero Moto Corp talked about the essential oneness of industry and educational institutions. He invoked LPU students to understand the working at industry through different case studies presented during the convention. Sr Manager RC Kapoor and Manager Surinder Dhar at Hero Cycles informed how to tackle customers’ grievances amicably; Engineer Vikash Singh at Rockman shared how to maintain competitive quality in the products; and, Deputy Manager Anuj Tyagi at Blue Star inspired about being consumer oriented to be successful entrepreneur.
