Lyallpur Khalsa College announces its contribution to cause of rural areas

Jalandhar, December 29, 2018: Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar has announced its contribution to the cause of rural areas by the virtue of research and studies to be conducted by the college staff and students as per the 'Unnat Bharat Abhiyan', a program being run by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
College Principal Dr.Gurpinder Singh Samra announced the aforementioned commitment in a meeting with the representative from the Jalandhar district villages of Pholariwal, Johlaan, Nangal Shama and Ladhewali.
Principal Dr.Samra also informed that as per this scheme full efforts would be made to ensure healthy rural social setup and intense studies would be conducted regarding the various problems and needs of rural civilization in addition to providing long term solutions for the same.
On this occasion Dr.Arun Dev Sharma, Head, Biotechnology Department and program coordinator, informed that the college will be working in tandem with these villages as a part of the 'Unnat Bharat' scheme initiated by the Government of India. As a part of this program, measures to encourage organic farming and extract useful materials from natural vegetation will also be carried out.
The meeting was also attended by Prof. Prabh Dyal, Dr. Tarsem Singh, Dr. Ajit Pal Singh, Prof. Gulzar Singh and Prof. Palwinder Singh Bolina. Representatives from the villages thanked Principal Dr. Samra and the institution for their progressive and usefulness initiatives
