Ludhiana/Khanna, October 26, 2015: Earthquake tremors were felt in Khanna, Samrala, Machhiwara, Khamano, Ludhiana and other parts of the district today. The tremors started at about 2.41 pm and were felt about two minutes. Due the tremors the fans, chairs, beds, sofa sets were seen trembling and the fans were witnessed moving here and there. Due to tremors the peoples became panic and ran out of their houses and shops. Some peoples who were standing on bus stand Khanna said that they felt earth trembling and they have narrow escape from felling on the ground. Sohan Lal, an elderly person of Khanna said that this earthquake was very strong and he had never felt such strong shocks. Meanwhile, a sixth class school girl was injured when the students were asked by staff of a school to move out of classes at Khanna. This incident happened at Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa School Khanna when staff members of the school felting tremors told the school children to ran out of classes. In the meantime a sixth class student Lovepreet Kaur fell on the ground when she was pushed by other students. Due to felling on the ground she received an injury in the head. She was rushed to Civil Hospital Khanna where she was recovering. As per Principal Balihar Singh of the school this incident happened all of sudden when the students were in hype.
