Training course on preservation of fruits and vegetables begins at PAU
Ludhiana, January 5, 2015: A five-day training course on “Preservation of Fruits and Vegetables” began at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) today. The course has been jointly organised by the Directorate of Extension Education and Department of Food Science and Technology, PAU. Farmers and farm women from various parts of Punjab are participating in the course.
Giving details, Dr R.S.Sidhu, Director of Extension Education, said that the experts will dwell on the significance of preservation of fruits and vegetables at household level. Besides, demonstrations on the preparation of amla muraba; amla candy; mixed fruit jam; mix vegetable pickle; carrot muraba; guava jelly; badam sharbat; kinnow squash; tomato sauce, pury, and chutney will also be given, he added.
