Training Course On Agriculture Related Enterprises Concludes At PAU

Ludhiana, February 11, 2016: A three-day training course on “Setting-up of Agriculture Related Enterprises” concluded at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) today. As many as 25 farmers from various parts of Punjab participated in the course, jointly organized by the Directorate of Extension Education and Department of Processing and Food Engineering, PAU.
Dr R.S. Sidhu, Director of Extension Education, said the trainees were educated about the significance of agriculture related ventures, cleaning and grading machinery for fruits and vegetables, and processing of wheat, paddy, onions, chillies, turmeric, mentha, jaggery, honey, milk, etc. Besides, trainees were given demonstrations on the use of machinery and technology for poultry and dairy feed, and preparation of potato chips, he added. The trainees were also apprised of agri-business, post-harvest management of fruits and vegetables, quality control, and facilities provided by AGMARK and national banks, he said. The programme was coordinated by Dr T.S. Riar and Dr Rupinder Kaur whereas Dr Tarsem Chand and Dr Amarjit Singh were the technical coordinators.
