Chandigarh November 23, 2016: Noted columnist and trainer of Heartfulness meditation Sh.Rajgopalan today said that the whole idea of spirituality is to revive “the true inner being” in us, which is otherwise sleeping in us.
Prefect of Sahaj Marg, Chennai Sh. Rajagopalan was delivering a talk in the Interdisciplinary Centre for Swami Vivekananda on “Understanding and practicing meditation, its importance in daily life”. Sh.Rajagopalan is a well known
columnist, who has also been writing series of columns on Mind Management in Times of India.
Sh.Rajagopalan said that the mind is the key instrument for developing rationality, discretion and intuitive knowledge, therefore regulating mind through meditation is important. Meditation helps in cleaning the granulated impressions,
predetermined tendencies and opens up the heart. The path of Sadhana, is the road to evolve you from the ordinary state of human consciousness to the state of Infinite Divine Consciousness. He quoted beautiful examples from scriptures to highlight how meditation has been used as a tool to awaken the mind and expand consciousness. This path is the path of patience and persistence. The lecture was followed by a session of transmission of yogic energy through the process of heartfullness meditation by him. Participants enjoyed the session and realized the potential of this technique.
Coordinator, Interdisciplinary Centre for Swami Vivekananda Studies Prof.Nandita highlighted the efforts made by the Centre in self development program for students where the technique of heartfulness meditation is being practiced.
Spirituality is the need for an inner existence. Those who seek spirituality yearn for something more than day-to-day worldly life, where our focus is so often on the outer worlds around us, constantly taking in impressions through our senses.
The lecture was attended by Director RPC Prof OP Katare, Director HRDC Prof Karamjit, Prof Lalit Bansal, Prof Latika Sharma, Prof Baveja, Dr Rekha, faculty and research scholars from various disciplines and some Community members.
