Ludhiana, December 23, 2015: Three Architects Pritpal Singh Ahluwalia, Bimaldeep Singh & Yogesh Singla were honored & given certificates of merit during Annual National Convention ( NATCON) of Architects held in Kolkata. Certificates were given on the basis of hard work done in the region to promote & uplift Architecture. The names were shortlisted & recommended by committee headed by Chairman IIACPC Ar Sanjay Goel. The certificates of merit were presented by National President of IIA.
Ar. Pritpal Singh Ahluwalia is Jt. Hon. Secretary of IIA Chandigarh Punjab Chapter, Ar. Bimaldeep Singh is Press Secretary of IIA Ludhiana Centre and Ar. Yogesh Singla is Chairman of IIA Ludhiana Centre.
The two day National Convention was attended by more than 1000 architects from all parts of India as well as many came specially from abroad.
Expert lectures on different topics related to theme of convention "People and their Spaces" were delivered by Architects from India & abroad.
National Council meeting of Architects also took place during Convention which was attended by Ar Sanjay Goel Chairman IIACPC & National Council member of IIA.
The idea to create separate chapter at Chandigarh was opposed as its not only UT only as pointed by few members but its also State Capital for Punjab & as per IIA byelaws one State including its capital can have one chapter only. The headquarter of Chapter too must be in State Capital as per IIA byelaws.
A cultural programme was also organized during NATCON and Architects from Punjab performed bhangra in Kolkata. The Chairman of IIACPC Ar Sanjay Goel was a big attraction as he wore turban during cultural programme.
Patiala sub centre was specially recognized among all sub centers in India for enrolling maximum members in IIA during last three months.
