Sunil Kumar elected as Intl President of UFTAA

Hyderabad, December 28, 2015: Travel Agents Association of India(TAAI)'s Sunil Kumar elected as The United Federation of Travel Agent’s Associations(UFTAA) President. UFTAA is a global body of Travel Agents Associations.  Sunil Kumar is currently the president of TAAI.

UFTAA is a global body representing the travel agency and tourism industry.

Sunil Kumar was unanimously elected at the Annual General Assembly of UFTAA held at Brussels recently.

UFTAA is a non-profit Confederation of international scope, representing Regional Federations comprising some 80 national associations. It effectively represents Travel Agents and Tour Operators views on both Inbound and Outbound travel by continuous dialogue and consultation with other international organizations such as the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the International Hotel and Restaurant Association (IH&RA) the International Union of Railways (IUR), the International Road Union (IRU), and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) to mention only a few.

UFTAA has consultative status with the UN/NGO/ECOSOC, and works closely with other world bodies such as UNESCO, WHO etc. for a sustainable and responsible tourism. UFTAA is an affiliate member of the World Tourism Organization (WTO) and its Business Council (WTOBC).

UFTAA came into existence 50 years ago in Brussels, Belgium. This is a great honour to the Travel and Tourism Industry in India and Hyderabad for this feat.

Sunil is a city based India’s well known travel professional. He is the Founder & CEO of M/s Travel World and M/s Travel World Holidays. He has also been assigned the task of Managing Director of M/s Interserve Travels Pvt Ltd, which is India’s oldest Travel consortium and has 48 locations. There are 14 locations beyond India as well. He has served as the National President of Indian Jaycees, and there after rose to be the International Vice President and International Executive Vice President of Junior Chamber International. He has recently served as the International Director of Lions Clubs International.

Among UFTAA’s several activities, include the debates UFTAA is involved with IATA at PAPGJC (Passenger Agency Program Global Joint Council – a Parent global body of APJCs of the world). UFTAA has 3 seats on PAPGJC.
