Jalandhar, July 20, 2016: As a part of Punjabi culture and tradition, the students in Lyallpur Khalsa College celebrated the festival of Teej today in the College campus. In a brief yet impressive function presided over by Principal Dr.Gurpinder Singh Samra, girls students of the college performed Punjabi folk songs and Punjabi folk dance Gidha.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the College Dr.G.S.Samra said that folk arts of a culture truly represent that traditions and values of that culture and academic intelligentsia could play an important role in preservation of rich cultural Punjabi heritage. He reiterated the commitment of the Lyallpur Khalsa College to Punjabi culture. The occasion was marked by the presence of staff and students of the College.
