Jalandhar, October 3, 2015: Teaching Staff today at Lyallpur Khalsa college bid adieu to Prof Saita Tewari who attained superannuation after a long and meritorious service. Noted Film and TV artist and a multifaceted personality Prof Tewari served for 26 years of dedicated service in Khalsa college in her total teaching career of 40 years. Praising the loyalty and commitment of Prof Tewari to the college, Principal Dr.Gurpinder Singh Samra presented her souvenirs and wished her happy and healthy retired life. On this occasion a letter of commendation from the Governing council of the college was also presented to Prof Tewari. In her emotional farewell speech Prof. Tewari expressed her sense of belongingness with the institution and commitment to the society. She announced a scholarship of Rs 3100,2100 and 1100 for the first three position holders respectively in BA Semester 1 and Semester 2 examinations every year. Prof. Jasreen Kaur HoD of the department recounted a personal and touching narrative of her association with her and the dept all these years. Distinguished guests included prof VK Tiwari his son Mohit Tiwari Deputy Commissioner Dept of Income Tax and daughter in law Yukti Tiwari and Hods of all departments. The entire staff of the college assembled to wish her an emotional farewell. The stage on the occasion was managed by the staff secretary Dr. RS Sandhu
