Jalandhar, December 22, 2015:  Lovely Professional University is collaborating to organise three-day 2nd Indira Gandhi National Model United Nations Conference (Jalandhar Chapter) at its campus from December 26 to 28. Former Chief Minister of Delhi Smt Sheila Dikshit, who is also the Patron of IGNMUN, will chair the conference on the inaugural day. Former Union Home Minister & former Governor of Punjab Shri Shivraj Patil will be the Chief Guest. Renowned journalist from NDTV Ms Barkha Dutt will be the keynote speaker. Former Chief Minister Punjab Smt Rajinder Kaur Bhattal will also grace the occasion. 
 
On this occasion students representing as top leaders of different countries will participate in the conference and discuss on various issues for possible solutions. As such the conference is to offer opportunity to delegates to engage in special interactive sessions with eminent personalities and guest speakers to discuss key issues and formulate creative and practical solutions for the problems being faced presently.
 
Providing strong forum, IGNMUN is to sharp up young minds to take on leadership positions through exposure to the world of foreign and public policy formulation. The aim here is to encourage individuals who are interested in ideating and debating on key national and global issues. It carries the great slogan that “the power to question is the basis of all human progress.” 
 
The committees to be convened carrying different issues include United Nations General Assembly- DISEC; United Nations Human Rights Council; Commission on Status of Women; Indo- Pak Meet; United Nations Security Council; World Economic Forum; Rajya Sabha;  Facebook vs Google (crisis committee) and more.
