The ill-fated school bus, which met with an accident on Jalandhar - Nakodar road on Monday.
Chandigarh, March 4, 2013: The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today expressed shock over the tragic accident near Nakodar in which 13 persons including 12 school students died on the spot. It may be mentioned here that the accident took place near village Gohir in which a school bus of Akal Academy, Boparai Kalan carrying around 40 students collided head on with a truck.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed the District Jalandhar Administration to provide free of cost medical treatment to the injured students besides providing logistic support to the families of deceased students. He also directed the District Police Authorities to make comprehensive arrangements for smooth flow of traffic on all important but congested roads of the district especially during school and office hours.
Expressing his heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved families, Badal prayed to Almighty to grant peace to the departed souls and strength to their families to bear these irreparable losses.
