Ludhiana, November 15, 2013: The Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal said that Punjab Government has full faith in the industrialists and they have been allowed for self attestation and self declaration to get all clearances for industry.  

Later in the evening interacting with industry leaders of Ludhiana in the programme organised by the MSME (Small and Medium Enterprisers), Badal announced that self attestation to get power connection would be implemented from January 1st, 2014 to ensure that there will be no interaction between Powercom and Industrialists. For Red category industry, Badal also asked that officials to identify the 500 to 1000 acres land near Ludhiana city to transfer units willing to move for decongestion in the city. Besides that he announced all the roads in Focal Points would be maintained by industries as per their needs with all possible cooperation from Punjab Government..

Badal said that new traders’ policy and Industrial policy were aiming to the paperless business in the state as all kind of sanctions/approvals would be given online rather in queue or manually. He also said that now there would be no need to maintain bill books, hiring CAs and lawyer services.

Calling the industrialist to come forward for lump-sum tax, Badal said that Punjab Government is open to suggestions and we are ready to imposed lump-sum tax on various industries.

Slamming Congress for defame Punjab campaign, he said that those people scaring the investors were the biggest enemies of the Punjab. He said that leaders of Punjab congress were only applying their mind to think that how to obstruct development process in the state but no one can stop the development.

Badal said that on December 8 at the inauguration time of Talwandi Sabo, we will officially declare the Punjab as first power surplus state in the nation. He also assured the industrialists that their demands would be considered by the Punjab Government.

Various industrialists put their demands before Deputy Chief Minister mainly seeking to transfer of tiny industry into clusters, separate cluster for agro based industry, set up of CPTs for dying industry, Subsidies ROs for industry, modernization of development centers. Representatives of Industry assured the Deputy Chief Minister that they would ensure the minimum pollution by their industrial units.

The deputy Chief Minister has also announced that in January he would again interact with industrialist to know the results of traders and industrial policy.

Addressing the gathering, Industry Minister of Punjab Madan Mohan Mittal called upon the industrialist to generate employment for youths. Besides that terming the pollution as major worry for the state, the Minister said that keeping in view the interest of the state in mind, industrialist should come forward to prevent pollution. 

Prominent amongst present on the occasion included PWD Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, CPS N.K.Sharma, MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali, Ranjit Singh Dhillon, Balwinder Singh Bains, Kamal oswal, Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria and representatives of more than 30 industrial institutions.
