Chandigarh, July 30, 2019: In a massive tree plantation drive to make the city green, students and faculty of Aakash Institute planted 908 saplings, equal to the number of selection of their students in competitive exams in Chandigarh, opposite NABARD office.

The campaign called “Clean Chandigarh Green Chandigarh” was organized to create better awareness about the importance of having a green cover for the city

Paresh Johri, Income Tax Commissioner, Chandigarh (UT) graced the event as the Chief Guest. “The environment today is facing a lot of problems like pollution and degradation of green cover and if we don’t address these issues today, we would be doing immense harm to our future generation. It is heartening to note that the students of Aakash Institute apart from their studies is committed to planting trees and spreading awareness about the vital role forests play in the protection of our planet. I hope these kind of plantation drives are held in all parts of Ludhiana and it turns into a green and beautiful city”, said Paresh.

Aakash Chaudhry, Co-Promoter and CEO of Aakash Educational Services Ltd. (AESL) and Founder & Trustee of Plaksha University said, “We at Aakash Institute feel an immense responsibility towards the environment and Mother Nature because of the increasing pollution and destruction of natural habitat of birds and animals. Our students and faculty have regularly been running tree plantation drives in Aakash centers across the country. We renew our pledge to make the environment around us clean and green.”
