Chandigarh, October 29, 2014: Chitkara International School in collaboration with Helen O’Gardy International organised the elevating globalised cultural and academic exchange in London for its students. The visit included complete comprehensive learning of Language, Communication, Expression, Art and Theatrics through extensive and exhaustive workshops regarding drama, dance and music.
The scientific and varied didactic visits to historical classics, theatre, college and university as a part of the academic explore bridged for cross cultural learning, scholarly connect and introduction to educational antiquity. The students attended creative workshops on ‘Djembe’ a traditional goblet drum from West-Africa, learning the nuances of playing the most versatile percussion instrument. The workshop together with global students imbibed the idea “Everyone gather together in peace", the basic defining purpose of the drum. Students had hands on workshop on contemporary dance form and various theatrical and drama skills, connecting them to various gradations and benefits of performing arts.
Through ‘Cambridge Xplore’ and ‘Knight Navigation’ students explored their navigation and map reading and investigating abilities. An academic look into ‘Globe Theatre’ and Shakespeare’s Village’ introduced the student to the classical linguistic scholastics and its cross disciplinary educative growth from regal time to contemporary world of education.
The programme included visit to MAD Museum giving inspirational learning of documentation of contemporary and historic innovation in craft, art, and designs, and physical science working models. The students in actual celebrated the creative process through which materials are crafted into works that enhance current life. A stopover to Harry Potter’s Theme Park, introduces to the information and accessories of the world’s bestselling book series and wizarding world of the movie series.
Accompanying faculty also agreed on attaining a breathing example of cross disciplinary approach to linguistics, expression and workmanship. The visits to King’s College, Cambridge University and other theatrical zeniths were described by them as an astoundingly knowledgeable experience into scholastics and current education system.
