New Delhi, November 7, 2014: Steelbird Helmets, is one of the biggest and oldest manufacturers of Helmets, Pannier Boxes and Auto Accessories in India, was a Title sponsor of 32nd Nehru Sub- Junior Hockey Tournament.

The third in the Six Tournament hockey series, conducted annually by the Nehru Hockey Society. Title Sponsored by the automobile industry giant, Steelbird Helmet, the tournament had Participation from across the country, was held on October 18 to October 30 at Shivaji Stadium.

Overall 31 teams participated and Indira Priyadrshini Hr Sec School has won the tournament by defeating Birsa Munda Vidyapitha by 3-1 in the final.

The total number of teams were 31 including BL Public Sr. Sec School Naya Bass, Alwar, Rajasthan, Loyola Hr. Sec School Kohima, Nagaland, NCC Directorate NCC, Shah Satnamji Boys School Sirsa, CBSE, Majidia Islamia Inter College Allahabad, UP, Damodar English High School Gudi, Paroda, Goa etc.

Speaking on the occasion ”Subhash Kapur Chairman Steelbird Helmets said, “Steelbird 32nd Nehru Sub- Junior Hockey Tournament is organized specially to promote our National Game in the country and to revive interest in the sport. Moreover India is also in the grip of this magic called hockey as millions of youngsters across the country are taking to the game with enthusiasm and it gives a platform to many young players to showcase their talent”.

The winners has received a cash award of Rs.96000. The runner up team has also received cash award of Rs. 64000, the winning team coach got Rs.8000 and the coach of runner up team has got Rs.5000.
