Green Fusion: Fusing Minds for Sustainable Environment Future held in Doaba College

EcoClub of Doaba College organised 'Green Fusion: Fusing Minds for Sustainable Future' under Environment Education Programme supported by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST) and Mission Life style for Environment (LiFE) on May 2, 2024. Students from various schools and Institutes participated in this event.

Jalandhar, May 7, 2024: EcoClub of Doaba College organised 'Green Fusion: Fusing Minds for Sustainable Future' under Environment Education Programme supported by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST) and Mission Life style for Environment (LiFE) on May 2, 2024. Students from various schools and Institutes participated in this event.

Dr. Girish Sapra, Managing Director, Green Brigade Pvt. Ltd and Mr. Bharat Bansal  from Reap Benefit Foundation were the speakers of the event. Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Principal Doaba College along with Co-ordinators of the event, Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Dr. Shivika Datta and Dr. Rakesh Kumar accorded a hearty welcome to the guest speakers.

The event was set forth with lamp lighting ceremony. Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari addressed the students and sensitized them about the environment and motivated them to contribute in whichever way they can for the environment restoration. 

The speaker, Dr. Girish Sapra spoke on 'Sustainable Waste Management Solution: Harnessing Technology to Combat Waste'. He interacted with students on the concept of circular Economy Model and Sustainability and shared his entrepreneurship journey. 

Bansal sensitized the students about the environment  in a very interactive session and shared with the students about various mentorship  programs  for being a change in the society. Along with this, inter school competition like InQUIZitive Buzz, Pre- prepared poster, Declamation, and Waste to Wealth were organised in parallel sessions. 93 students participated in these competitions. Arnav and Khushi from APJ School got first position in Waste to wealth competition. Sahil, Nikhil and Riya stood first in Quiz Competition; Saransh was the winner in Declamation Competition and Nancy and Nikhil from Jullundhar Model Sen Sec School bagged first position in Poster making competition. 

Winners were honoured by Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari. 

The event was culminated by the National Anthem.
