Chandigarh, September 4, 2013: The Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Shivraj V. Patil while interacting with five IAS probationers of 2012-2014 Batch, who today called on him at Punjab Raj Bhawan, advised them to do their jobs to the best of their ability to deliver the goals of good governance, effective delivery of public services, and time-bound implementation of welfare and development schemes.
Congratulating the probationers for qualifying the All India Services Examination, Patil said that they should use their education and training for the betterment of the people and to be their friend and guide. He said as the heads of their districts, they should not only make use of the law and the power at their disposal but also deal with the people in a humane manner.
Stressing upon right planning and its effective implementation, Patil, told the probationers that understanding of constitution is most important for them, which would help them while discharging their duties at different levels. He also advised them to learn the state language, which would enable them to understand the problems of the ordinary person in a better manner.
The Governor wished all the officers bright carrier ahead.
Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting included, MP Singh, Principal Secretary to Governor and C. Roul, Director General, Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration Punjab.
