Series Of Leadership Camps For Punjab Youth Commences At Manali

Chandigarh, August 27, 2016: With a focus to ensure overall personality development of the youth in the state, the Youth Services Department, Punjab today kicked off the series of its unique ten days Youth Leadership Training Camps from historical town of Nagar near Manali in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh.
Around 200 students from the universities and colleges across the state are participating in this camp which was inaugurated by renowned mountaineer of the country and Director of Track India Sh. Naresh Sharma. In his inaugural address, Sh. Sharma said that adventurous activities play an instrumental role in personality development of every youth. He said that the qualities drawn by youth from such camps can never be attained by them in class rooms. Sh. Sharma called upon the youth to ensure maximum participation in mountaineering, which keeps them physically fit on one hand and inculcate a spirit of self confidence, courage and commitment in them on the other.
In his address Assistant Director of Youth Services Punjab, Charanjeet Singh said that besides these ten camps the state government is also organizing Interstate Tours and Hiking Tracking camps to ensure overall personality development of youth. He said that under this scheme camps for non-students associated with Youth Welfare Clubs, besides the students of colleges and universities of state, will also be organized.
Welcoming the campers, the Camp Commandant Dr. Jagmeet Bawa apprised them about the activities to be undertaken in this camp. Deputy Camp Commandant S. Gurdarshan Singh Bahia informed the students that these camps inculcate leadership qualities in their personality while the Camp Adjutant Pritam Singh Rupal acquainted the students with the topography and history of the local region.
