Makhu (Ferozepur), August 28, 2019: Senior Advisor to the Punjab Chief Minister, Lieutenant General (Retd.) TS Shergill today called upon the Guardians of Governance (GoGs) to serve the flood-affected people of the district by ensuring the hassle-free distribution of relief the material in the villages besides asking them playing a proactive role in the service of humanity in this hour of crisis.
Presiding over a meeting with the GoGs of Makhu here today, the Senior Advisor to Chief Minister said that the state government under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has already taken a number of initiatives to provide relief to the flood-affected people.
He said that the chief minister besides ordering Special Girdawari for the crops, making the assessment of the loss bore by affected people has already asked the district administration to take all possible steps to provide relief to the flood ravaged people. Lieutenant General (Retd.) Mr Shergill said that GOGs can play a vital role to serve humanity in the present crises.
The Senior Advisor to the Chief Minister exhorted all the GoGs to participate proactively in the relief operations by ensuring that no one is deprived of the relief the material being distributed by the administration.
The Senior Advisor said that the GoGs, who were the eyes and ears of the state government were already rendering marvellous services to the masses through this flagship program launched by the Chief Minister. He said that besides ensuring transparency and accountability of the government it was the bounden duty of the GoGs to extend a helping hand to their fellow countrymen in this hour of distress.
During the meeting, Major General (Retd.) cum Chief of Ferozepur GOGs S.S. Chauhan apprised the senior advisor about the work being done by the GOGs to ensure the proper implementation of pro-people government schemes and to avail the benefit of these schemes to the different sections of the society.
On the occasion, Tehsildar Zira Beant Singh, Colonel Amarjit Singh, Colonel Balkar Singh and a large number of GOGs were Present.

ADMINISTRATION RECEIVES NEW CONSIGNMENT OF 100-QUINTAL ANIMAL FEED: DC
Ferozepur, August 28, 2019: The Deputy Commissioner Chander Gaind said that the district administration will leave no stone unturned to provide relief to the people of flood-ravaged areas of the district.
Gaind, who took stock of the situation in flood-affected village Nihala Lavera told the people said the district administration has received another consignment of 100 quintal animal feed on Tuesday and the supply has been started today in the various villages.
He said that the earlier, the administration had already distributed 200 quintal animal feed among the livestock farmers through boats. Further, he added that the animal husbandry department has vaccinated 700 animals and treated 2000 animals.
The deputy commissioner stated the till today, the veterinary experts of the department had given treatment to 3000 cattle of the district at the doorsteps of the people.
Gaind said that Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh stands with the flood-affected people in this hour of distress. He told that the administration would soon send a detailed report about the losses due to the floods.
