Jalandhar, March 15, 2015: "Jaago Grahak Jaago", these were the lustrous words quoted by Advocate PP Singh Ahluwalia in DAV College Jalandhar on the occasion of World Consumer Rights Day.

In a guest lecture organised by PR Office in collaboration with the Commerce Forum of the College, Advocate PP SIngh Ahluwalia, Guest of The Honour was given a floral welcome by the Principal Dr.BB Sharma and Manish Khanna, PR Officer.

Advocate PP stated that every single consumer is in a deep slumber and is unaware of his rights. He added that if a customer is being cheated by the vendor in one or the other manner, if he is being charged more than the actual price, if he is getting less than the stated or the potential services, and  if someone is trying to sell him/her something that can create commotion and chaos, then he/ she can approach the judicial system of the country.

He further made the listeners aware regarding the complaining process that a complaint can be submitted over a simple piece f paper. In the complaint, a customer has to mention his complete information along with the opposition's information. Moreover what has been experienced by the customer regarding the product/service sold to him and each single detail is to be added in the complaint. When everything would be so accurate in the complaint, there would be no requirement of a lawyer too.

In the concluding part, he said that if the person has any problem regarding the processing of his/her complaint then he/she can log on to www.core.nic.in. after using this website they would get a proper complaint number which  further can be printed by them. Within 72 hours of complaint, it will be processed and follow up will be provided to the customer through email and the opposition would be directed to solve customer's problem within 14 days.

Advocate PP Singh Ahluwalia also responded to the students' enquires regarding on line shopping. Valedictory speech was delivered by Shailja Sharma.
