A seminar being held in Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar on Wednesday.

Jalandhar, November 26, 2014: Social Concerns: The Role of Teachers was the topic of a seminar held in Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar today. Organised in collaboration with the Rajiv Gandhi Study Circle, this seminar witnessed the participation of Former Union Cabinet Minister CP Joshi , Dr.VK Tewari Former Dean  Languages Punjab University Chandigarh. Welcoming the guests the Principal of the College Dr. GS Samra said that it was the need of the hour to revise the curricula of various the courses to make them according to the requirements of the society so that students could have for themselves a better and secure future.

Speaking to the present the chief speaker CP Joshi said that teachers were the very backbone of the entire education system and it was mandatory for them to be more competent, aware and updated. He also said that students needed to identify between the uses and misuses of technology in order to ensure the right development of the society. Dr.V.K. Tewari, in his address lauded the contribution of Rajiv Gandhi study Circle to the society and added that teacher issues needed to be given due attention. 

The vote of thanks on the occasion was presented by Dr. Anup Vats. Dr. Rashpal Sandhu the head of the Commerce Department of the college conducted the stage. Present on the occasion were Harish Chaudhary former MP, Subhash Garg, Rajinder Beri and students and staff of the college.
