Ludhiana: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday said the SAD-BJP alliance was committed to increasing the limit for self certification for all traders to Rs two crore per annum once returned to power.

Addressing large gatherings in favour of Praveen Bansal in Ludhina North and Kamal Chetli in Ludhina West , the SAD President said traders having an annual turnover of up to Rs two crore would not need to maintain books. This limit is Rs one crore presently.

Mr Badal also announced that Ludhina would become a world wide manufacturing hub for the high end bicycle industry with the establishment of the bicycle valley in this region.

The SAD president said the SAD-BJP alliance was also committed to instal CCTV cameras at all entry and exit points in villages, towns and cities of the State.

The SAD president said the akali - BJP alliance was committed to take every section with it in its quest for rapid development of the State in all spheres. "We have made giant strides by providing clean drinking water and sewerage facilities in all 165 villages in the State. We have now decided to focus on providing the same facilities in all 12,000 villages. Besides this we have decided to buttress the income of our farmers by giving them a fertiliser incentive of Rs 100 per quintal for both wheat and paddy crops. We have simultaneously also decided to expand the ambit of the aata daal scheme by including sugar and ghee in it. Both commodities will be distributed to BPL families at subsidised rates".

The SAD president said "our government has a vision for Punjab. We are committed to speedy development. Our track record speaks for itself. Our opponents however are following a negative agenda only. They have nothing positive to give. Even Congress legislature party leader Charanjit Channi when asked to name one thing the previous Congress government had done for the State had replied that the government had got patches put on roads".

Mr Badal asked the people to reject the AAP party completely. He said AAP was dangerous for Punjab as its leader Arvind Kejriwal wanted to use Punjab as a staging ground for his fight against PM Narendra Modi. He said this would have a direct fallout on the farming community in Punjab. "Your wheat and paddy will not be procured. Please do not commit a mistake by supporting AAP", he added.
