Selection trails for admission in sports School Ghudda announced

Chandigarh, February 6, 2015: The Director, Sports School Ghudda in Sri Muktsar Sahib district today announced selection trails schedule to admit budding players for academic session 2015-16.  Selected players under age category of 14, 17 (boys & girls) and under-19 (girls) will be provided training, food, training, medical facilities and sports equipments.

An official spokesman today said physical fitness test and game test would be conducted at sports school Ghudda between February 16 and 18. He further informed that trails for under-14 would be held on February 16 whereas under-19 on February 17 and under-17 on February 18.

Giving details he said selection trails would be held for games that included Volleyball, Weightlifting, Athletics, Hockey, Shooting, Swimming, Wrestling, Boxing, Football, Kabbadi and Basketball. Selected candidates would also have to undergo medical test.

He further said that Punjab Government aims to ensure maximum participation of Punjabi players in the Indian contingent for Rio Olympic in 2016 and would provide better facilities to selected players under speed fund scheme in 10 sports academies in the state.

He said that all eligible candidates should reach sports school at 9 AM sharp alongwith required educational certificates, sports achievement certificates and Punjab residence proof on scheduled dates.

Spokesman also added that under speed fund scheme trails for football would also be held at Martial art and sports academy, Sri Anandpur Sahib in Rupnagar district.
