Chandigarh, February 25, 2015: The second phase of the pulse polio campaign launched across various districts in Punjab on Sunday. Infants in the age group of 0-5 years were covered under the three-day campaign.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the government said that as many as 34, 02,608 children were administered anti polio drops. It may be mentioned that polio has been completely wiped out from India. More than 15000 booths were established and 60,000 vaccinators participated in this gigantic task. He further said that 56, 10,701 houses were covered in the state. Besides this door to door campaign too was launched to cover the left out children in both rural and urban areas of Punjab, he added.
