SCIENTIFIC ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING CONDUCTED AT KVK FATEHGARH SAHIB

Ludhiana, November 10, 2017: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Fatehgarh Sahib conducted the Scientific Advisory Committee Meeting on Thursday under the chairmanship of Dr.G.S Buttar, Additional Director of Extension PAU Ludhiana. Dr P.P.S Pannu Additional Director Research (NR & PHM) PAU Ludhiana, officers from the Allied Departments, farmers and farm women members participated in this meeting. Dr.Harinder Singh, Deputy Director (Trg), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Fatehgarh Sahib gave a warm welcome to all the members of the Scientific Advisory Committee and presented the Annual Progress Report in which he discussed about different extension activities conducted by the KVK. He also presented the Action Plan for the activities to be conducted under different disciplines for the next year. All the SAC members gave their suggestions for effective working of KVK in the district. The Chairman of the meeting Dr. G.S Buttar stressed upon the importance of paddy residue management and motivated all the members to work in collaboration with each other to stop the practice of reisdue burning. He further proposed to include school going adolescent girls in nutrition related activities of KVK to curb the menace of Anemia. Dr. P.P.S Pannu advised judicious use of recommended pesticide and their recommended doses to reduce resistance among pests and insect. Er Rattan Singh Deputy Director PNB (FTC) suggested addition of trainings on Water recharge system and further Dr. G.S Buttar suggested to include trainings on fisheries in the Action Plan in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries. In the end, Dr. Arvind Preet Kaur, gave the vote of thanks to all the members.
