Sankara Eye Hospital celebrates its 39th Founders Day

Ludhiana, May 20, 2016: Sankara Eye Hospital celebrates its Founders Day. On this occasion, Sankara Eye Hospital organised a free Low Vision eye screening camp at Vocational Rehabilitation Training Centre for Blind (VRTC), Ludhiana. In this screening a team from Sankara Eye Hospital examined 75 visually impaired students, 35 were brought to hospital for further detailed evaluation. Out of 35 students, 18 showed improvement in visual acuity with low vision devices. These low vision devices were sponsored by AVON cycles. These devices were distributed to the students with a training programme on how to use these devices.

Mr. Binny J Abraham, unit head of Sankara Eye Hospital, Ludhiana told that ‘From a two-room Medical Centre, we have become a Pan-India Eye Care Movement and also a global leader in community eye care. All this has been possible because of the divine blessings of the Acharyas and the total commitment of every single member of the Sankara family’.

He further added, remembering the Genesis and rededicating ourselves on this occasion, Sankara Ludhiana initiated this activity.
