Sanjeev Sood wins 57 medals at age of 57 in Table Tennis

Ludhiana, March 6, 2014: City resident Sanjeev Sood (57) has won 57 medals at national and zonal-levels competitions in table tennis, held in the last 44 years. Presently, he works as a manager at the State Bank of Patiala.
Recently, he has won a silver medal at the 21st Veteran National Table Tennis Championship held at Dharamsala (HP). Around 900 table tennis players from across the country had participated in this event.
Now, Sood- a 7-times national champion is anxious to get an opportunity to participate in the Veteran World Table Tennis Championship to be held at New Zealand in May this year.
Last year too, Sood had clinched a gold medal in the championship. In the semi finals, he had won against Madhya Pradesh, and in the finals, he lost to Maharashtra in a tough fight.
He told that he was encouraging his children for the sport. He too had inherited the game from his father. His father used to play table tennis daily.
Punjab Pradesh Baopar Mandal state secretary Mohinder Aggarwal has congratulated Sood on his achievements.
