Jalandhar, July 23, 2016: Sahodya Inter School Yoga Championship was organised at Innocent Hearts School, Green Model Town. The students from 31 schools participated in the competition and captured the attention of the audience with their concentration and stamina while performing the asanas. Yoga is a perfect exercise for both body and soul, a holistic way of life and prayerful discipline adopted by the youngsters was a healthy sign for the nation. The meticulous task of judgment was done by Mr. Dhram Paul ji - retired Principal of Government School, Jalandhar, Mr. Ramesh Kumar Sharma - certified Yoga teacher of Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Mr. Sukhwinder Singh - member of Khalsa College Yoga team Jalandhar. The first position was bagged by Police DAV Boys and Police DAV School also outshined amongst Girls. The second position in boys category was bagged by ApeeJay School and amongst girls – Cambridge School UE II. The Third Position was bagged by - Innocent Hearts School, Green Model Town in boys’ category and in Girls - Cambridge Phagwara. The consolation prize was won by EMM AAR School (Boys) and amongst girls Innocent Hearts School Loharan. The judges also performed a few asanas on the stage and the audience really applauded their talent. They also shared the tips to perform asanas in correct technique and posture. The Honourable Director Principal of School - Mr. Dheeraj Banati congratulated the winners calling Yoga a physical, mental and spiritual practice. He applauded all the participants for their excellent accomplishments. His motivational address encouraged the audience to plunge the yoga with heart and soul.
