Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Contestant Akqira Asmita has a passion for singing

Akqira Asmita was born on June 3, 1997. Her father Rishi Garg is an Engineer and her mother Neena Garg is also an Engineer. She has been learning singing since the age of five and her Gurus were Pt.Bhimsen Sharma (Chandigarh), Manjit Kaur (Patiala), Kumar Vinay (Patiala) and Late Shamsher Singh Kareer. She told in Chandigarh today that her passion was to become a singer. She has already sung two songs in Punjabi movie O.G.J. Hun Vajjega Band. She has also sung promotional song “ Ishq karle anytime” with Mika Singh and Sonu Nigam in the movie “ Santa Banta Pvt. Ltd.” to be released on 22ndApril 2016.
Her major achievements are as under:
• Performed on channel Mh1 on “Nikki Awaz Punjab Di”
• Second prize in Folk singing competition held at Baradari gardens on August 12-13, 2007 organised by Patiala Kala Parishad, Patiala.
• Gold Medal at Individual shabad gayan competition on September 3, 2008 held at Punjabi University, Patiala.
• Title song “paisa paisa” in the Album “Paisa Paisa” released from “Venus Records.
• Album released from “Original Melody” called “Tumse Milkar”.
• First position in the Talent hunt organized by Mehak Cultural forum from Oct.19 –to Oct. 25, 2008.
• Performed at various local TV channels including DD Punjabi.
• Album released from “Music Plus India” called “Ringa Ringa The Crazy Girl”.
• Performance at Thapar University in the great shows such as “Saturnalia”
and “Aranya”.
• Performed at the function held by “Ishmeet Foundation”.
• A Punjabi album released “Teriyan Nishaniyan”.
• Fame of “Indian Idol Junior” on Sony channel.
• A devotional Album released “Jagdambe Vandana”. In this CD worked with
• renowned singers Udit Narayan and Sadhna Sargam.
• Working with renowned violinist and music director of Mumbai
• “Surendra Singh Attra”.
• First Runner up of “Airtel Awaaz Punjab Di” on Mh1 channel.
