1. How was your experience as a wrestler in your first fiction debut?
I have watched Salman Khan’s “Sultan” many times to get the nuances right. Also my entry scene in the show is similar to what Salman has done in his Sultan movie. I am greatly inspired by him.
2. Is the show inspired from Dum Lagake Haisha?
Happy to be compared with such a popular movie. But you will know the difference once our show goes on air. I am sure BadhoBahuwill do as good as the movies. I am hoping that the viewers will love our efforts put into the show.
3. Tell us something about your character in the show?
I will be playing the character of Lucky Singh Ahlawat. He is the youngest son of the family andlooks dashing in his good clothes, aviators and fancy bikes. He has been inspired by his father as he was a gold medalist in wrestling during his time. Lucky has lived up to his dad’s name and is an ace wrestler himself and also has been bestowed the title of “Haryana Kesri”. He has a won a lot of championships and is a romantic at heart. Also, he dreams of marrying a girl like Katrina Kaif. But his life takes a drastic turnwhen he gets marriedwith Badho.
4. What brings you to this show?
I always wanted to give tribute to Salman, so when I heard the BadhoBahu is based on wrestling, I readily agreed. Moreover the storyline and the characterization are extremely refreshing that I couldn’t say a No. Also it is the first time I am foraying into daily soap genre, so I wanted to take up a show that had unique content which is different from what you see on TV these days. I had been offered many more & different shows but I never showed much interest in them as they were same Saas bahu type. I wanted to work on something unique & happening. I feel Badho Bahu justifies it all.
5. Did you undergo any special training as you’re playing a wrestler on the show?
Yes I had undergone a proper wrestling workshop with the assistance of a trainer. Also I had to opt for a different diet as well. My breakfast involves 8-10 boiled eggs with one bowl of oats. Then I head to the gym and post workout. I have a protein shake. For lunch I have rice and chicken. In the evening I usually have 200 grams of fish. After sometime I have a glass of juice and a bowl of salad. For dinner I either have chicken or eggs, broccoli, corn and beans. Apart from all this, I was greatly inspired by Salman Khan & his movie Sultan.
6. Was it difficult to get the Haryanvi accent?
As a language, Harvyanvi is quirky and fun. We have a diction coach on board so that we all get the accent right.
7. How is your experience working with your Rythasha?
As Rythasha comes from a theatre background and I from a reality show background we have different perspectives for approaching a scene and it has been fun shooting with her and others up till now. Rythasha is very sweet & cooperative. I am looking forward for more scenes with her.
