Mohali, June 21, 2014: Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (RCED) Chandigarh signed a MoU with Tynor Orthotics Pvt Ltd, Mohali today to initiate a skill development training programme under the sphere of Tynor’s Corporate Social Responsibility. Tynor Orthotics has come forward to reach out to the society at large by promoting employment enhancing vocational skills.

Harjinder Kaur, Ex Mayor Chandigarh and Chairperson, Punjab Arts Council inaugurated the training centre and appreciated the entire team of Tynor and RCED for their initiative. Sarabjit Singh, Joint Director, Industries & Commerce (Punjab) was the special guest.

The purpose of the training programme is to train the candidates belonging to nearby villages in the trade of tailoring and stitching garments and leather goods. A full-fledged training centre equipped with modern machinery has been set up at its industry premise. Training for the first batch of 25 candidates has begun  and over 700 candidates are likely to be trained in the coming six months.

Training would be conducted for a period of one month post which the candidates would have to qualify an assessment test conducted by a government agency. Candidates successfully qualifying the assessment would be given an employment opportunity within the industry.

PJ Singh, Managing Director, Tynor Orthotics, discussed the need to promote skill development programmes in our country and conveyed his thanks to the Board of Directors of the company for supporting this initiative under CSR.

A J Singh, Executive Director, Tynor Orthotics, informed that their company is exporting around 200 orthopaedic items in more than 30 countries and shall be launching several new products in the coming years, also expressed his views on CSR.  

Paramjit Singh, Principal Consultant, RCED shared his views on how developing skilled manpower can narrow the gap between demand and supply of skills. RCED conducts training programmes for target groups such as women, rural youth on behalf of different Central Ministries, State Govt. Departments and All India Financial Institutions and trains around 10,000 candidates annually in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, J&K and Chandigarh.
