REPUBLIC DAY FUNCTION FULL DRESS REHEARSAL HELD

CABINET MINISTER OP SONI TO HOIST THE NATIONAL FLAG ON JANUARY 26

Ludhiana, January 24, 2019: A full dress rehearsal regarding the district-level Republic Day celebrations was held at the Guru Nanak stadium, here today.

Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal supervised the preparations and took the salute from the march past during the rehearsal. He also inspected the parade along with Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Ashwani Kapoor.

A total of 13 contingents of Punjab Police, Home Guards, NCC, Scouts and Guides were part of the parade. The march past was led by IPS Officer Dr Pragya Jain.

The Deputy Commissioner, along with ADC (General) Mr. Iqbal Singh Sandhu took stock of the preparations and closely supervised the various cultural items related with patriotism and national integration being prepared by school students for the Republic Day celebrations. School children also presented P.T.Show and Lazium.

He informed Punjab School Education, Freedom Fighters & Food Processing Minister Mr. OP Soni will be Chief Guest of the district level function and will hoist the tricolour on January 26, 2019.

Later, Mr Agrawal held a meeting with the officials and asked them to ensure impressive presentation by the students during cultural items. He gave necessary directions to the officials of Municipal Corporation, Mandi Board, Panchayat, Excise, Education, health, and others to make the sure smooth conduct of affairs during the function.

He also ordered them that tableaus being prepared by different departments which would display the development of state and country should be ready on January 25.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Dr Shena Aggarwal, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr Gagan Ajit Singh, ADC Jagraon Dr Neeru Katyal Gupta, IAS (Under Training) Mr Sagar Setia, besides several others.
