RBI Issues Authorization Of CCL Of Rs.17,523 Cr Towards First Installment For Procurement Of Wheat

Chandigarh, April 20, 2016: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today issued authorization of Cash Credit Limit (CCL) of Rs.17,523 cr towards first installation for the procurement of 90 lac tonnes of wheat for Rabi season-2016 to the Punjab Government.
Disclosing this here today, Mr.Harcharan Bains, Advisor on National Affairs to the Chief Minister Punjab said that the RBI would issue another authorization for second installment of CCL for the procurement of wheat during the current Rabi season shortly.
The Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal thanked the Prime Minister for his prompt personal intervention to get the impasse on CCL resolved.
It may be recalled the Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal along with Food & Civil Supplies Minister Mr. Adesh Partap Singh Kairon had called on the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi at New Delhi on Monday to urge him for the immediate clearance of CCL, added Mr. Bains.
