Ludhiana, Febriary 28, 2017: DMCH Youth Club today organized ‘Quiz programme’ on National Science Day in Auditorium of DMCH College Campus.
President of DMCH Youth Club-Gurjot Gill extended warm welcome to all the dignitaries present on the occasion including Principal Dr Sandeep Puri, Assistant Dean Academics Dr Sandeep Kaushal and Dr Sanjeev Uppal.
Principal Dr Sandeep Puri congratulated all the participants for actively being the part of this quiz programme. He emphasized on the importance of holding such quiz programmes, which enhances the knowledge of participants and audience in more interactive and entertaining manner.
There were total six teams, out of which five were from various MBBS batches and one team was of PG students. Each team was assigned the name of prominent Indian scientist, who has contributed significantly his respective field of research. There were total four rounds under different themes including General Science, General Knowledge, Medical Sciences and India & Science.
While elaborating on the importance of ‘National Science Day’ Dr Sanjeev Uppal informed that the day is celebrated every year in the country on 28th February to mark the discovery of the Raman effect by Indian physicist Sir Chandrashekhara Venkata Raman on 28 February, 1928.
The questions were very judiciously prepared and the students performed extremely well in every round. The first position was bagged by MBBS Batch 2016 and the second position by MBBS Batch 2013.
The programme got concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, in which all the participants were given prizes by dignitaries present on the occasion.
