Chandigarh, October 7, 2015: The Punjab Government has instructed all the Heads of Department and Administrative Secretaries to submit complete information regarding the Departmental Promotion Committee meetings within the span of 15 days.
Disclosing this, an official spokesperson said that seeking this information had become imperative since it had come to the notice of the State Government that various departments were not holding the meetings of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) to decide the promotions cases of the officials and officers whenever they become due for promotion.
According to the spokesperson, it has come to light that the delay in timely promotion to official/officers creates many administrative and legal problems for the Government. He also said that due to this reason many deserving officials/officers are devoid of promotions.
The spokesperson further said that all the departments have been told to give information regarding pending DPC meetings, reasons for pendency of DPC meetings and the Date on which the last DPC meeting was held.
