Khanna, November 22, 2015: One person was killed and one was injured seriously in a road accident near village Libra on Ludhiana-Ambala road.
As per information a truck was going towards Ludhiana. When it reached near the bridge near village Libra suddenly the driver of the truck lost control on the truck and it turned on the left side lane by breaking railing in spite of riding the bridge. This truck rammed into a standing truck and the standing truck hit another two standing trucks and one of the truck also hit a shop resulting breaking of a shutter of a shop.
Due to collision a loud noise was heard and the villagers gathered on the spot and police was also informed. The collision was so fierce that the driver and a helper of the first truck were evacuated from the truck with great difficulty by a police team led by SHO Khanna Sadar Bhupinder Singh with the help of villagers. Truck driver identified as Komal Singh was evacuated from the truck in a serious condition while the helper identified as Gurvinder Pal Singh a resident of village Matewal near Babab Bakala was found dead and his body was evacuated from the truck. The injured was rushed to Civil Hospital where he was recovering with multiple wounds.
As per SHO no case was registered in this regard and the police was waiting for the family members of the deceased. He said that the body of the deceased will be handed over to his guardians after post mortem.
