Punjab reserves seats for Kashmiri migrants: Mittal

Chandigarh, July 23, 2014: One seat for Kashmiri Migrants in admissions for various courses has been reserved by Punjab government. The state government has waived off the condition of domicile requirement for Kashmiri migrants.
Madan Mohan Mittal, Technical Education Minister, Punjab said that the state government after considering the guidelines issued by All India Council for Technical Education and Ministry of Human Resources development has reserved one seat in each Engineering/MBA/MCA/M-Pharma/B-Pharma/Hotel Management and Catering Technology,Diploma in Engineering in Thapar University, Punjabi University, Engineering Colleges and Polytechnic Colleges of the state for admission of Kashmiri Migrants for the academic session 2014-2015.
He said that the counseling of the candidates would be held on August 4, 2014 in the Committee Room of Directorate of Technical Education and Industrial Training, Punjab, plot No.1, Sector 36-A Chandigarh. The last date of submission of complete application is July 28, 2014. The other details about courses and guidelines for admission along with performa are available on the directorate’s website www.dtepunjab.gov.in.
The Minister further said that admissions shall be made only on the basis of marks obtained in JEE (MAIN) 2014/JET 2014/CMAT 2014/GPAT 2014 Examination conducted by the Central Board of School Education, Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training Punjab, Chandigarh, All India Council for Technical Education. // punjab news, india news,
