Punjab News/DA for unrevised pay scales increased

Chandigarh, July 2, 2014: The Punjab Government has announced the hike in DA for all those employees/pensioners, who were drawing salaries under the unrevised pay scales.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the Finance Department said that installment of Dearness Allowance due to be paid from July I, 2013 has been increased from 166 percent to 183 percent. He said that the increased amount of DA from February 1, 2014 would be given in cash whereas the arrear of DA from the period July 1, 2013 to January 31st 2014 would be deposited in the GPF accounts of class D employees in the month of July 2014. The rest of employee would get the arrears on August 15, 2014. He said that the arrears would be deposited in the GPF accounts of the employee whereas pensioner would get it in cash.
He said that the DA due to be paid to the employees from January 1, 2014 has been increased from 183 percent to 200 percent. He said that this DA would be given in cash from December 1, 2014 whereas the case of disbursement of arrear from January 1, 2014 to November 30, 2014 would be decided later on.
The spokesperson further said that the arrear of DA from January 1, 2013 to June 30, 2013 would be deposited in the GPF accounts of the employees whereas the pensioner would get the arrear in cash.
