PUNJAB NEWS- Election Commission fully prepared for gram panchayat poll

Chandigarh, July 1, 2013: The State Election Commission is fully prepared for the election as all arrangements have been made. The Canvassing came to an end today for the Gram Panchayat Elections that are scheduled to be held on July 3.

Disclosing this here today, S.S.Brar, State Election Commissioner, said that polling for 13080 Gram Panchayat would be held on July 3. State Election Commission has issued strict instructions to Civil, Police administration to make foolproof security arguments so that election process could be completed peacefully. 

He said that as the canvassing for the election have concluded today and the instructions have been issued to all the parties not to campaign after 4 p.m. on July 1.

State Election Commissioner said that SEC declared July 3 as dry day in the revenue jurisdiction of all villages where polls are to be held. SEC also issued instructions to State Government and District administrations to ensure the compliance.
